Winston's Clutch Triple Seals It As NLEX Outguns Magnolia

The NLEX Road Warriors pulled off a gritty 112-105 win over the Magnolia Hotshots on Sunday in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup at the Ynares Center-Montalban, stretching their streak to two straight victories while handing Magnolia its second straight loss.
It wasn’t just one hero for NLEX—it was a full team effort.
Seven Road Warriors scored in double figures, with Cady Lalanne leading the charge with 24 points and 11 rebounds. But it was Schonny Winston who delivered the dagger, draining a buzzer-beating three-pointer to officially put the game away.
Robert Bolick and JB Bahio chipped in 14 points each, while LJ Gonzales and Kevin Alas added 13 apiece. Anthony Semerad also made his presence felt with 11 markers, as NLEX leaned on depth to outlast Magnolia.
On the other side, Nuni Omot was unstoppable, exploding for 32 points. He got support from Jerom Lastimosa with 23, Rome dela Rosa with 17, and Zavier Lucero with 16—but it still wasn’t enough.
Magnolia actually came out strong, building a 13-point lead in the second quarter and heading into halftime up 59-57. But NLEX slowly turned the tide, edging ahead 82-80 after three quarters before finishing strong in the final stretch.
Veterans Paul Lee and Mark Barroca were held to minimal output, managing just four and three points respectively—something that hurt Magnolia down the line.
NLEX’s outside shooting also made a difference, knocking down 11 three-pointers compared to Magnolia’s eight.
A late triple by Winston pushed the lead to 111-103, and from there, the Road Warriors never looked back.
Back-to-back wins now for NLEX, and suddenly, they’re looking like a team no one wants to face.
