Rex Book Store to set limit on bulk orders after reports of book hoarding

Rex Book Store has announced that it will set a limit on bulk orders of law books to prevent hoarding and overpricing.

This follows reports of resellers hoarding and selling law books at inflated prices.

The book dealer also said that it is working on increasing stocks of in-demand materials at their branches.

"While reselling provides a financial opportunity to some, let's not abuse it and deprive students the opportunity to progress academically," the store said in its announcement on social media.

Trial lawyer Yel (not her real name) has been checking the Rex Online Store every day to see if Rex’s codals are back in stock. Recently, the said books were sold out. She is hoping the store will replenish its stocks soon.

Tiffany (also a pseudonym) is an incoming first-year law student and has been getting ready for class. She has yet to buy books and is still waiting for stocks to replenish as she hopes to avoid spending double on the shipping fee for the books.

"Frugality is really necessary during this pandemic but school will start whether I have prepared or not. Because of the hoarding incident and the shortage of stocks from Rex, I feel forced to splurge," she said.
