English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has released his first solo single in four years titled "Bad Habits".

"Bad Habits. Out now. Listen and watch the official video at
http://es.lnk.to/BadHabits," Sheeran announced on Twitter on Friday, June 25.

In the music video, the multi-awarded artist takes the role of a blonde-haired vampire wearing a bright pink suit and glittery dark eye makeup. He runs around town at night, wreaking havoc with his fellow vampires.

Lyrics of the song include:

"My bad habits lead to late nights ending alone
Conversations with a stranger I barely know
Swearing this will be the last, but it probably won't
I've got nothing left to lose, or use, or do
My bad habits lead to wide eyes stare into space
And I know I lose control of the things that I say
I was looking for a way out, now I can't escape
Nothing happens after two
It's true, it's true
My bad habits lead to you"

The song is Sheeran's first official release since his 2019 album No. 6 Collaborations Project, which featured his collaborations with artists like Khalid, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, Camila Cabello and Cardi B.

On June 10, the singer started teasing about his next solo single.

"The moment you realise your first solo single in 4 years is coming out in a few weeks," he posted on Instagram.

Sheeran’s last solo album titled Divide was released in 2017. It featured hit tracks like “Shape of You,” “Perfect," “Dive” and “Castle on the Hill."

Hours after Sheeran released "Bad Habits," pop superstar Taylor Swift shared her appreciation for the song on Twitter.

“Ed has a new song out and I legitimately cannot get it out of my head! And this VIDEO! Stream/Buy/Support/bop to it uncontrollably all summer,” she wrote.

Swift also posted an Instagram Story with a photo of Sheeran grabbed from the music video and captioned, "It's Ed and it's glitter so it's a yes for me."
