MANILA, Philippines – Real and reel life couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla led a tribute song of solidarity for media giant ABS-CBN’s retrenched workers.

Titled Tinig ng mga Nawalan, the music video released Monday featured the network’s reporters, anchors, celebrities and employees who lost their jobs after ABS-CBN was denied a broadcast franchise in the House of Representatives.

Among the stars who appeared in the video were Angel Locsin, Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, Vice Ganda, Coco Martin, and more.

The five-minute video also depicted Filipino frontliners struggling in the battle against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and other in other sectors who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

ABS-CBN said the tribute aims to send a “message of hope for Filipinos facing tragedies like losing loved ones in the fight against COVID-19, as well as the loss of jobs during this pandemic.”

Ipadinig ang tinig ng mga nawalan, ipadinig ang tinig ng sikmurang kumakalam, ipadinig ang iyak ng bawat magulang at anak, ipadinig at tandaan, may ala-ala ang kasaysayan, the lyrics read.

The song’s launch marks the network’s new campaign “Lingkod ng Isa’t Isa” which highlights “how Filipinos become each other’s heroes in dark, challenging, and uncertain times.”

The music video was produced by the network’s Creative Communications Management unit, one of the subsidiaries shut down due to the denial of broadcast franchise.

As many ABS-CBN employees were laid off effective August 31, several units were also closed down as a result of the network going off-air along with its regional stations and its sports unit.
