Rabiya Stuns In Yellow At Miss Universe Preliminary Competition
Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo was a stunner in yellow during the 69th Miss Universe preliminary competition in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday, May 15.

During the pageant's swimsuit competition, Rabiya paraded around the stage in her bright yellow two-piece swimsuit and a long beach robe. The swimsuit was by Ema Koja of Ema Savahl Couture.
Her high heels were designed by Jojo Bragais, a Filipino shoe designer who was tapped by the MU organization to provide footwear for all the candidates this year.

In the evening gown competition, Rabiya wore a yellow single-shoulder strapped tulle gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals made by Dubai-based Filipino designer Furne Amato.
Amato in an Instagram post on May 15 said that the gown is inspired by the Philippine sun.
"The one sided neckline tulle gown is elegantly encrusted with Citrine Swarovski crystals on the bodice cascading to the hem and cape over alabaster Swarovski components, glass beads and paillettes. The dramatic and fitted silhouette adds interest and pizzazz on its own. The cape added royalty to the gown, and its beadwork was inspired by the radiance of the Philippine sun which symbolizes positivity and optimism. A hope for a new tomorrow, a world with endless beauty and happiness," he added.
During the preliminary competition, the hashtags "#PrelimPina5" and "#AribaRabiya" dominated the local Twitter trend as Filipino pageant fans and enthusiasts their expressed support for Rabiya.
