MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim, 65

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Danilo Lim has passed away.

In a statement, the MMDA said Lim died from cardiac arrest before 8 a.m. today, January 6. He was 65.

On December 29, Lim confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19.

Lim is survived by his wife, RAM (Rebolusyonaryong Alyansang Makabansa) partylist Rep. Aloysia Tiongson-Lim, and daughter Aika.

Lim became MMDA chairman in May 2017.

“Under his helm, Lim prioritized the welfare of the employees by ensuring they receive accident insurance and other appropriate benefits,” the MMDA statement read. “He also focused his efforts in instilling and implementing strict discipline among agency employees.”

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque also issued a statement to convey Malacañang’s deep condolences to Lim’s family, loved ones and colleagues.

“MMDA Chair Lim served the Duterte Administration with professionalism, competence and integrity. He will be dearly missed. May the perpetual light shine upon him, and may his soul, through the mercy of the Almighty, rest in eternal peace,” said Roque.
