Authorities Arrest Two Baguio Visitors Over Fake Travel Papers

Authorities arrested two persons who attempted to enter Baguio City using fake documents on Saturday morning.

Police Station 9 personnel manning a checkpoint at Purok 3, Irisan flagged down the two while they were driving to Baguio supposedly to visit a relative.

The live-in partners, both residents of Bulacan, presented a travel authority to enter Baguio City supposedly issued by the Bulacan Police Provincial Office in Norzagaray.

Upon checking, however, Bulacan Police said the two did not apply for a travel pass or travel authority from them.

The couple revealed after further questioning that they had the travel authority forged in Baliuag, Bulacan since they were only able to obtain a travel authority going to Bacnotan, La Union.

They also allegedly dropped off a passenger at La Union before proceeding to Baguio City.

Police said the couple violated Article 172 of the Revised Penal Code (Falsification of Public Documents) and Republic Act 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act).
