Naga, Cebu SP commends honest cabbie

The Naga City, Cebu Sangguniang Panglungsod on Friday commended a taxi cab driver for returning a passenger’s wallet containing almost P19,000 cash.
Naga Vice Mayor Virgilio M. Chiong and the SP members approved Councilor Afshin Señor’s resolution to recognize and commend the exemplary act of cab driver Jeorge Alano.
Alano, a resident of Barangay Langtad in Naga, found Alvin Lucenos’ wallet shortly after he dropped the latter off in Pardo, Cebu City. The cash inside the wallet was to be used for the baptism of Lucenos’s baby.
“The honesty of Alano, a cabbie for more than 30 years, has prevailed despite the low income of his driving job under the pandemic,” said SP secretary Garry Cabotaje.
Alano had also returned P1 million cash to a passenger when he was still driving in Manila.
