Zambo Gears for Opening of Sta. Cruz Island and Once Islas for Tourism

The Zamboanga City government is preparing to open Sta. Cruz Island and the Once Islas (11 islands) for tourism.

City tourism officer Sarita Sebastian however said the destinations will operate at half their total capacity to avoid crowding.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Sta Cruz Island could accomodate 500 guests and the 11 islands 200. Presently, the allowed number of guests is 250 for Sta. Cruz and 100 for the 11 islands.

Marshals will be deployed at the venues to ensure strict compliance with health protocols.

Sta. Cruz and the Once Islas are two of Zamboanga City's premier tourist destinations.

The city government is also planning to open other venues this week.
