Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Friday announced that all public and private cemeteries, columbariums and memorial parks in the country will be closed from October 29 to November 4.

Roque said the closure of cemeteries was approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to discourage mass gatherings during All Saints’ and All Souls Day.

He advised people to visit cemeteries before and after the closure dates.

Roque added that the number of visitors allowed will be limited to 30% of the venue’s capacity. Visitors should also comply with basic health protocols such as the wearing of face masks and face shields.
